In White Salmon on Sunday (1/28), the Blue Jay is still with a huge
flock of Steller's and Scrub Jays along Lincoln Street. It did not
visit a feeder while it was there, but sat up in the oaks above the
Marx residence. An Anna's Hummingbird was lazily slurping sugar water
from a feeder on nearby Garfield Street (the green house) despite
38 degree weather. At Bingen Pond (along the loop road across from
the recycling center) a Harris's Sparrow continues to come to
seed that's been spread out (this one was new to me, but it was written up in the bird register at Loafer's Bakery downtown as having been there at least since December). The male Tufted Duck was easily scopable from Bingen Point, swimming and diving near channel marker 4.
