This is the Vancouver Bird Alert for Tuesday, January 30th. Evening
Update.

Rare bird alert for the BRAMBLING.

Two announcements before tonight's update.

After nearly a month of welcoming birders onto their property at 7620 No. 3
Rd. the homeowners are requesting, until further notice, birders view the
HOODED ORIOLE from Jones Rd. Both feeders are easily viewed from that
vantage point. On behalf of the birding community I would like to thank the
Lackners for their hospitality over the last 4 weeks. Many birders from
around the Province, Washington State and a few visitors from Ontario have
enjoyed great views of this rare vagrant to B.C.

Birders are reminded that Thursday is Birder's Night. As usual the meeting
starts at 7:30 at York House School, 4176 Alexandra St. in Vancouver. The
school is situated on the NW corner of Granville and 26th. Thursday speaker
is Dave Allinson, president of Vancouver Island's Rocky Point Bird
Observatory. He will be speaking migration monitoring at the Observatory.
