The Northern Hawk Owl was perched high in an Alder tree about 1/3 of a mile
down the tree line on the south side of the raspberry field this afternoon
(Jan. 31, 2001) between 2 and 3 pm. It was in the same location on Monday
afternoon as well. If not there, look closely at the tallest evergreen tree
in the woodlot behind the house on the South side of the raspberry field.
It can be hard to spot in the evergreen as it is a small bird, roughly the
size of a small crow.
