After my Dad coming home yesterday from his hike and describing what he
thought was a Northern Mockingbird, and really sticking to his guns when he
paged through Sibley, I was sure he had found something . . . even if it was
the highest NOMO ever. But we hadn't taken all other birds into
consideration . . . especially Townsend's Solitaire. I showed him both
birds, and we listened to both songs, and now he's not sure about which one
it is. Listening to other people's descriptions regarding TOSO, I'm
convinced that's what it is, but my Dad, who saw the bird, is still
uncertain. So, there's still the possibility . . . but not very likely, I
don't think. Sorry.
