Tuesday, June 26, 11:53 PM. Hi, this is Sam Terry, (206) 329-9038.
Friday the 22nd in Kititas County, I had one to two BLACK-THROATED SPARROWS
south of Vantage on Huntzinger Road. This is at the location described
earlier. About 6 miles south of the entrance to Wanapum State Park and
directly across from the railroad bridge.
And, today the 25th [??], I had one SCRUB JAY in Seattle on Aloha just
west of the Arboretum. That's it.

Friday, June 29, 6:36 AM. Hi, this is Tom Aversa. A slightly belated
report from eastern Washington this week. On the 25th, at Kahlotus Lake
there
was at least one WHITE-FACED IBIS remaining. There were also two GREATER and
two LESSER YELLOWLEGS there and a COMMON YELLOWTHROAT.
On the same day, the 25th, up in Grant County there was a breeding
plumaged FRANKLIN'S GULL at Lake Lenore. There were also at least 15 adult
COMMON GOLDENEYES that were carefully identified there including a brood of
young with a female and some GREATER SCAUP were present there with numerous
other ducks, EARED GREBES etc.
On the 26th, at the Walla Walla River Delta, there was a LEAST
SANDPIPER, a GREATER YELLOWLEGS and an unidentified STINT that was
apparently not a WESTERN SANDPIPER. It looked a bit faded to be a RED-NECKED
STINT but otherwise matched the description of that bird but I can't really
say. On the 26th also, at the Iowa Beef Ponds, there were 2 GREATER
YELLOWLEGS and 7 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 5 WESTERN SANDPIPERS so it seems like
the shorebird migration is underway

Saturday, June 30, 9:20 AM. Hello, this is Craig Kemper, (206) 789-9255
with a late report for Sunday June 24. That morning in Franklin County at
Kahlotus Lake, Kathy and I located 6 WHITE-FACED IBIS at approximately 9:15
after looking for well over an hour. The 6 birds were seen foraging in the
mud at the south end of the lake.
Later that afternoon, in Kititas County we located one female
BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER at the Naneum Airport Strip. Reached by taking
Colockum Road to Colockum Pass and then taking Naneum Ridge Road to the
airport. The bird was first heard on the east side of the landing strip. It
flew across the strip to a silver snag on the west side. Thank you.

Sunday, July 1, 6:34 PM. This is Bob Norton, Joyce, WA (360) 928-3053.
Jessica Boyd from Lake Ozette reports that the NORTHERN PARULA was again
seen and heard today after a lapse of many days.
