.............Sunday afternoon at Julia Butler Hanson Whitetail Deer
Refuge----jusr west of Cathalet, Wash. on Highway 4 ---north side of
Columbia River:
.............A dozen "little ones" following a female Mallard around.
.............7 Greater Yellowlegs dipping in a shallow pond.
.............2 Fox Sparrows, along with Song and White-crowned Sparrows
"singing their hearts out" for me
.............Some No. Rough-winged Swallows in a 'sea' of more common
Swallows.
.............2 large Red-tailed hawks soaring overhead in the company of
9 Turkey Vultures.
.............."Flashes of yellow" as Goldfinches zip past my eyes.
..............White-tailed deer(some with the beginnings of antlers)
darting out in front of me as I walked.
...............Then there was that Raccoon peering at me from the tall
grass.
..............Cormorants diving and Herons fishing-, frogs
croaking---------nothing unusual. Just the simple little pleasures of
life on a perfect sunny afternoon....a little bit of "heaven on earth" I
might say. (-:

.............Cheers
