Tuesday 7-3, four of us hiked up Sheep Canyon trail on Mt St. Helens
searching for WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN--no luck. However, we did find
GRAY-CROWNED ROSY FINCH working the edges of melting snow fields. Also
present were a flock of RED and a BLUE GROUSE on the road in. We also heard
BLUE GROUSE on the trail.
