Well, now I know how Edgar Martinez feels when he hits a long fly ball out.
On July 4th I drove 500+ miles in the hope of sighting the WHITE FACED IBIS
over at Kahlotus Lake. It may have been there, but I didn't find it. I did
find 90+ degree heat, and a few birds in breeding plumage that were a treat,
plus one lifer. No trip is wasted! I made stops at Ginkgo SP in Vantage
(GSP), McManoman Road north on Othello (McM), Columbia NWR between Othello
and the O'Sullivan Dam (CNWR), O'Sullivan Dam (D), Potholes SP (PSP),
Wanapum Road south of Vantage (WR), and Durr Road southwest of Ellensburg
(DR).
