Subject: large group of Swainson's Hawks

Adding to the database, at dawn on July 12, 1992, we saw a flock of 60
Swainson's Hawks
south of Hermiston, OR (south of Tri-Cities WA). They were on the ground &
fence posts so probably a night roost. (No trees around). My opinion was
it was a grouping of the local hawks that were enjoying the mice turned up
by the agricultural harvest. Probably getting ready for migration.
