Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday July 12. If you have anything to add call Harry

A singing CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER was seen July 7 south of Frenchglen
along Three-mile Creek at the eastern edge of Catlow Valley.

A MANX SHEARWATER was off Boiler Bay July 9. A HORNED PUFFIN flew past
Boiler Bay July 6 and July 9. Two ANCIENT MURRELETS are also in the area.

The swallows are now gathering into large flocks as they begin to migrate
south. A FRANKLIN'S GULL was on the North Spit of Coos Bay July 4.
Migrant adult sandpipers are now in good numbers. Up to 31 LONG-BILLED
CURLEWS are now at Coos Bay. SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS were seen during the
week at the South Jetty of the Columbia River, at Jackson Bottom in
Hillsboro, and with a PECTORAL SANDPIPER at the Necanicum River mouth in
Gearhart.

A COMMON TERN was on Sauvie Island July 10. Five MUTE SWANS were flying
about Baskett Slough NWR July 4. An AVOCET was at Ankeny NWR July 11. Two
BEWICK'S WRENS were with many CATBIRDS and CHATS at Rhinehart Bridge near
Elgin July 8.
