Spent an enjoyable two hours this morning along the Langus Riverfront
trail from I-5 to the bridge to Spencer Island. Loads of Swainson's
Thrushes singing along the trail, two OSPREYs by the nest with two young
birds in the nest, all the regular summer residents were present. On an
overcast morning I had three BLACK SWIFTS seen from the trail and over
Spencer Island.

Highlight was an immature PEREGRINE FALCON (most likely a female from
the size) perched on a Sitka Spruce on Spencer Island south of the long
bridge. After watching the bird for twenty minutes it finally leisurely
stretched both legs allowing me to see that it has not been banded -
would be interesting to know where it came from. When I got around on
the Spencer Island side about 15 minutes later it was gone.

Clouds of TREE SWALLOWS near the bridge over to Spencer Island, great
views of immatures.
