If you are going to be in San Francisco, the closest reliable spot to
see Yellow-billed Magpie is to go east on I-80 to the Sacramento Valley.
They are common there, and you can have some good birding in a number of
spots over that way. One good location is the Cosumnes River Preserve
south of Sacramento. Another is the Bobelaine Audubon Sanctuary on the
Feather River north of Sacramento.
