Re Kelly McAllister's quare about ospreys nesting in BC, there is a nesting
colony in the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area west of Creston, BC. I
don't know how numerous the birds are, but nests on power poles are easily
visible. The Management Area holds an Osprey festival on the last week of
April. It has, or had, a home page: www.cwildlife.bc.ca. It's a long way
over, but the area is worth seeing at the right time of year. Ed Level,
Everett, WA.
