Tweets - I have been remiss in reporting for the last month. We have gone out
each of the last four weeks, and there have been birds to see.
Today was broken overcast, with rain threatening sometimes. Lots of mosquitos,
bad light early. We had 50 species though, including a PEREGRINE FALCON which
made a big circle (1/2 mile diameter?) over the weir, a COOPER'S HAWK with
brunch (seen from the lake platform), about 7 BLACK SWIFT from the boardwalk,
and several RED-EYED VIREO including a nest with young near the Rowing Club
dock. MANY muskrat.

Canada Goose All - numbers increasing
Wood Duck 7/4, 7/18. Today, momma with 6 babies.

Hooded Merganser All - at Rowing Club ponds
Common Merganser Single females 6/27 and 7/4 -- See Note #1
Osprey 2 on 6/27, 1 on 7/18 over lake
Cooper's Hawk 1 on 7/18 with dead bird in its grasp. Robin?
Red-tailed Hawk All weeks including at least 4 birds today
Peregrine Falcon 7/18 - 1 Flew in huge circle around weir.
Virginia Rail 7/4 - 1-2 young w/adult at RC ponds. 7/11-
adult at lake.
Killdeer All
California Gull? 7/11, 7/18. Maybe Ring-billed too? Increasing.
Glaucous-winged Gull 7/18 - 1 immature
Rock Dove Missed on the 4th
Band-tailed Pigeon All, including 30 on 7/4
Black Swift 7 on 7/18

Rufous Hummingbird All - females only, last 3 weeks

Had a report from Grace and Ollie of a momma with 6 little ones riding on her
back, 7/16, near the windmill (I think).
Note #2 - LAZULI BUNTING
7/4 - Male and possible female, with male seen twice in easternmost London
Plane Tree along south edge of Dog Area parking lot. 7/11 - Male in SAME TREE
along parking lot. Both times, male singing.
