the South Jetty of the Columbia River, Clatsop Co., OR

Weather: Wind WNW 5-10; Temp 60F

Method: 1 hour station count from jetty 500m west of 3 rocks
SJCR using 20x60 Bushnell spotting scope and 8x50 Bushnell
binoculars. Birds were sorted as to flyby, sitting on beach, sitting
on ocean or sitting on river.

Notes: There was a huge feeding flock of COMMON MURRES at about
1km out. I saw at least 2 juvenile murres with adults closer in.
BROWN PELICAN have finally started to get up to expected
summer numbers. Attendent HEERMANN'S GULL numbers are up as well.

On the way into parking lot C I saw an adult female RING-NECKED
PHEASANT with a juvenile as well as two BRUSH RABBITS one of
which appeared to be a youngster.
