Ken, I suggest you check out Tennant Lake in Ferndale, about 8 miles north
of Bellingham. I finally saw my first Bullock's Oriole there in May of this
year, and all of the marsh wrens were a delight. Lots of different habitats
in and around the lake.

Subject: Birch Bay Birding?

I will be vacationing at Birch Bay (North of Bellingham) next week,
and am looking for suggestions on birding in the area. We're mainly
going so the kids can play on the beach, so I'll have very little
time for the birds, but I hope to get out at least once...

So if anyone can suggest a good area close to Birch Bay, ideally with
some interesting shorebirds (although a woods walk would be nice
too), I would appreciate hearing about it.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Ken
