hello tweets,

today, i stopped in to the university bookstore (on "the ave")
briefly and found that they were having an employees' art show. one
of the pieces on display was a lovely drawing of an immature
white-crowned sparrow sitting among apple blossoms. it is entitled
"sparrow" and was done in colored pencil. the artist is not a birder
nor does he even know what species of bird this was, but his eye for
detail and his ability to capture the personality of this bird are
impressive. if you happen to be in the u-district in the next week
or two, please stop by the bookstore and take a peek at this lovely
picture. you'll be glad that you did.
