Today at Nisqually we saw what I am pretty sure is a Western Wood Pewee. I
didn't think they occurred on this side of the mountains. Do they appear
here? If not any ideas what this bird is?

Description:

Flycatcher behavior, hawking insects and returning to the same branch or
nearby. Slightly larger than the Willow Flycatchers we saw today. Not as
large as I remember Eastern Kingbirds.

Gray, darker on top. Same shade of gray from chin to under-tail. Faint
hint of wing bars, no discernable eye ring or stripe. Head shape had the
"flycatcher crest". Head and back was not as dark as the birds I've seen
at Wenas.

Thanks,
