Hello Tweeters,

Today I had an unusual treat. In order to catch the 8:40 ferry from
Anacortes to Friday Harbor today, I had to leave Olympia pretty much in the
middle of the night. On my way up I-5, just south of Tacoma, Pierce County,
I was suprised to see a BARN OWL as it flew over the highway. It was flying
pretty low, perhaps 40 feet over the road. Then just as the sun was coming
up at 200th Street near Sea-Tac, King Co., I saw a second BARN OWL! This one
was higher at about 150 feet. I have made many trips through the urban areas
of I-5 in the last 9 years and this was the first (and second) time that I
have ever seen a BARN OWL along the way. Even better was that these were
both county first for me!
