Last night I heard over Tiny's Land that latest of spring migrants, a COM.
NIGHTHAWK. I also had a possible W. SCRUB-JAY along our forest trail the
same morning, but the vocalization was heard only once and needed
verification for certainty of i. d.

Also, while waiting at the Guemes Island ferry landing near Anacortes last
Sat, June 2, I was surprised to hear (two-three times) a N. BOBWHITE in a
small residential/scrubby area. Whether this is a recent local introduction
(like the recent Wild Turkeys at nearby Samish Flats) or a remnant of an old
population (the species was established in the county, but only a very long
time ago) is unknown.
