Yawn!
Then Northern Parula was still present this morning at the Lake Ozette
Ranger Station from 5:15-6:15AM singing loudly.
I arrived last night at about 8:15PM (departing Lacey at 4:15) with still
alot of light, but did not hear anything Parulaish.
There was a Swainson's Thrush in one of the groves of trees near the boat
launch that was singing the strangest song that night, and this morning.
Not flute-like at all. sort of a: chrt, chrt, preet! preet! preet! I
tried to turn it into something more exotic, but visually, it was
Swainson's. Never did I hear that particular bird sing like a typical
Swainson's... very strange.
Cheers and Good Birding
