In response to Jack's request about Western Scrub-Jays. Since 1998 there
has been a pair at the North End of Tacoma near UPS at N 11th and Cedar
Streets (my house). I've watched them build a nest, but haven't seen them
successfully fledge young. In preparation for the 2000 Tacoma Christmas
Bird Count I walked the the better part of the North End of Tacoma to see
how many pairs I could find and came up with 4 distinct pairs. They are
definitely doing well in Tacoma.
