Hi Tweets

Wednesday evening about 7:30, I was taking 5 in the break room at work,
looking out the window. I saw some small, nondescript birds in this tree
(don't know the name of the tree), and they had tufts /crests on their heads
like titmice have. They were smaller than waxwings . The lighting was poor,
and I didn't have my scope with me to take a better look. I looked them up
in Sibley's book before I started home..When I arrived home, I also looked
in Peterson's, Kaufman's, and the Smithsonian bird book. All of them said
Titmice do not occur in Washington..
Do they ever appear here? Has anyone else seen them?
Or were they possibly Flycatchers? I think one flycatcher has a tuft/crest
on it's head..
I would appreciate some feed back re: could they have been titmice?..
