Tweeters,

I thank Denny for calling to question the identity of the bird I summarily
stated a Eurasian Collared Dove. Everything to him (them, if I interpret
the conclusions from their observations correctly) seems right for Eurasian
except undertail covert coloration which they judged as white, but I judge
as light gray. Ellen and I spent an hour this morning waiting for this bird
to come to the feeding station, with cameras in hand. It never showed. It
performed nicely later in the day when we were absent; however no photos
were taken. Is our resident photo team up for the challenge?! Just slightly
kidding but this is a fine project for the photographers out there in our
group.

My experience with Eurasian Collared Dove is minimal. also, stemming from
several observations in the Sarasota FL area (a MCDonalds parking lot
specialist at times, otherwise residing in closely cropped Bermuda Grass
suburbia).

Boy, isn't it great we as a group are a collection of "Skeptics and
Believers?"
