Hi All,
Had a chance to walk and check out the trail systems behind (and
to the West) of Buck Lake this morning, at the North tip of the Kitsap
Penninsula. We had no Northern Parula or Eastern Phoebe, but some nice birds
anyway. The birds were as follows:
5 Olive-sided Flycatchers (2 seen and rest were calling)
30 Bushtits
Many Swainson's Thrushes calling, and 3 observed
1 Orange -crowned Warbler
1 Hairy Woodpecker
6 Willow Flycatchers, many were calling that we observed
1 Black-headed Grosbeak
2 Cedar Waxwings
2 Golden-crowned Kinglets
1 Sharpshinned Hawk (adult)
1 Green Heron (Buck Lake)
6 Red Crossbills
2 Osprey
1 MacGillivray's Warbler
3 Western Tanagers
1 Rufous Hummingbird ( about 2' away, feeding on a wild
Honeysuckle)
1 Common Yellowthroat
Thats all and good birding,
Doug watkins
