I took ornithology from Frank Richardson in the early 70s while doing
graduate work. His conviction was that all crows in the Pacific Northwest
were Corvus spp. - neither brachyrhynchos or caurinus. While there are many
arguments for and against, I agree with Burt in my own crow dealings.
