Subject: RBA: Manx Shearwater at SJCR

I just got a call from Todd Thornton (whose computer is
still down). He was heading out on the jetty as I was heading
in. He reports a close pass (within 100m) of a small,
black and white shearwater, "white underwings, white underneath
all the way to the undertail coverts" He watched it gliding
around for about 1 minute. Todd was up on the jetty about
1km from the river beach.
He also reported a small black and white alcid that looked
blotchy at the throat, but too far out for details.

Mike Patterson Alas, to wear the mantle of Galileo,
Astoria, OR it is not enough to be persecuted
celata at pacifier.com by an unkind establishment,
you must also be right.
