June 14, 2001, Thursday, 9:26 p.m. This is Steve Dang (206) 368-6887. I
was out birding this evening with Alice Gruber, Melissa Kegley, Leslie
Braden and Lauren Braden, and at Discovery Park at about 8:00 p.m. this
evening we saw a COMMON NIGHTHAWK fly over us heading west.

June 17, 2001, Sunday, 6:50 a.m. Hi, this is Tom Aversa. We're out [? next
words not clear] for this tape. It may be of interest to some people. I
was in Eastern Washington the past few days. On the 13th, I visited
Kahlotus Lake and there were still right around 15 WHITE-FACED IBIS there.
At least two of the birds were carrying nesting material down in the reeds
and flying around displaying with nesting material in their beaks, so they
may be nesting. There was also a pair of BUFFLEHEADS still there and a
GREATER YELLOWLEGS. Also, probably somewhere around 160 EARED GREBES that
were, many of which were nesting there. Yesterday, the 15th, at the Walla
Walla River delta, there was an adult FRANKLIN'S GULL and at the Iowa Beef
ponds, along with many STILTS and AVOCETS, there was a SEMIPALMATED PLOVER
adult. Thanks.

June 17, 2001, Sunday, 8:32 a.m. This is Marv Breece, that B R E E C E
(206) 634-1725. I'm calling to report that I heard and saw the NORTHERN
PARULA this morning at 7:00 o'clock at Saturday morning June the 16th. It's
still at the ranger station at Lake Ozette. It was, again, I saw and heard
the bird. It was foraging very low in a deciduous tree in front of the
men's restroom. That's it. Good luck and good birding.

June 17, 2001, Sunday, 2:31 p.m. Hi, this Michael Dossett (425) 402-3790.
This morning I birded parts of Snohomish County starting near the town of
Darrington at the Fortson mill ponds. I had a BANK SWALLOW at Fortson mill
ponds this morning about 8 miles west of Fortson Mill Road there on Highway
530 at C Post Road. Just before the bridge on Sea Post Road I had a singing
male AMERICAN REDSTART and I had a BLACK SWIFT fly over the bridge. If you
continue past and take a left, that road goes up to the Mt. Higgins
trailhead, and this morning just before the trail head I had an adult
NORTHERN GOSHAWK. Also, on my way home, I stopped by Spencer Island in
Everett and had two EASTERN KINGBIRDS at the northeast end of Spencer
Island. Thank you and good birding.

was still on the bridge at Leavenworth yesterday morning.
