Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday June 21. If you have anything to add call Harry

An XANTUS'S MURRELET was seen June 14 off the South Jetty of the Columbia
River. A MANX SHEARWATER was reported there June 16.

On June 11 a male LARK BUNTING was found along Nielson Road just south of
Fern Ridge Reservoir. It continues to be seen.

A MAGNOLIA WARBLER was east of Sublimity June 17; a BLACKPOLL WARBLER was
east of Ashland June 16; an OVENBIRD was in Orchards park in Vancouver
June 15; a VIRGINIA'S WARBLER was on top of Castle Rock, north of Beulah
Reservoir in nw Malheur County June 15. The COMMON MOORHEN is still being
seen near Krumbo Reservoir in Malheur NWR.

A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was in Brookings June 16. On June 20 an UPLAND
SANDPIPER and a female PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER were on the North Spit of
Coos Bay. A MOCKINBIRD was on the Bayocean Spit at Tillamook Bay June 18.

A breeding plumaged SABINE'S GULL has been at the mouth of the Necanicum
River in Gearhart for two weeks and is still being seen. A WANDERING
TATTLER was on the South Jetty of the Columbia River June 18.

On June 8 a flock of WHITE PELICANS was at Steigerwald NWR near
Washougal. On June 19 several were on Vancouver Lake. On June 17 three
juvenile BLACK-NECKED STILTS were being protected in Ridgefield NWR. An
adult BARRED OWL with three juveniles are now being seen in the Portland
Audubon Sanctuary in northwest Portland.

On June 16 a female PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was seen at Baskett Slough NWR.
Two BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS were there June 19, and the next day two WHIMBRELS
were in the area.

On June 17 a RED-EYED VIREO was along the Deschutes River at the Trout
Creek Recreation area near Madras. BOBOLINKS have been seen again this
summer at Paisley.

On June 16 a male EURASIAN WIGEON was on Beulah Reservoir; and a
PLUMBEOUS VIREO was at Chukar Park near Juntura.
