Hi all,
Let me apologize in advance for this marginal ?sightings? post, but an injured Picoides woodpecker is on the open front porch of my friend John Wiley on North Beacon Hill, who believes it is a Hairy Woodpecker, not by any means a common bird in this area. It probably hit glass, appears to have a broken wing and has made no attempt to leave although it is not closed in. I have to go to work tomorrow, but anyone interested in attempting a rescue of any kind on this bird is welcome and welcome to call John Wiley at 329 4750, not after 10pm or before 9 am. Thanks,
