Subject: a plea for eastern WA reports

I would really appreciate it if folks could forward to me
(charless at moscow.com) any significant reports of birding trips to "eastern"
WA. I will forward them on to our regional birding email list
(inland-nw-birders) and Kas Dumroese will have easy access to them for
inclusion in the northern ID/eastern WA/northeastern OR that he produces
each week.

We are most interested in the counties east of the Columbia River (ie Pend
Orielle, Stevens, Spokane, Lincoln, Whitman, Adams, Garfield, Columbia, and
Walla Walla) but report major rarities as far west as the east slope of the
Cascades. We do overlap a bit with the Lower Columbia Basin group (ie
tri-cities & Walla Walla) but would prefer to over-report regional rarities
and spread the word about good birding spots.

This is a big area with a relatively small number of birders but we continue
to learn about the area and find new birding spots. We could really use the
help of birders from western and central WA (and elsewhere!). Also I would
be happy to forward to inland-nw-birders RFIs from west sied birders for
eastern WA and northern ID specialties.

Thanks, Charles.

ps I hope eastern WA residents don't mind me, an Idaho resident, speaking
for the region, but in some respects residents of the inland northwest have
more affinity for each other than for the farther reaches of our states
(western WA & southern ID)
