Another excellent book for Alaska is "Guide to the Birds of
Alaska" by Robert H. Armstrong (updated 2000). Published by
Alaska Northwest Books. It covers all the birds seen in
Alaskan waters (including casual & accidental). The map in
the book divides the state into regions (Southwestern,
Southcoastal, Southeastern, Central, Western, Northern) and
tells what season a species can be seen in each region and
whether it's common, uncommon rare or casual etc.
