This would be a great time to go on this field trip. If you're coming from the south, proceed through customs northbound on the freeway, and after passing White Rock and the Hwy 91 (Alex Fraser Bridge) exits, take the Hwy 10 exit west (cross the freeway) into and through Ladner, where it becomes River Road. Figure about 1/2 hour to get there once you're through customs.

>I'm leading a Vancouver Natural History Society field trip Saturday
>afternoon if anyone is interested.

>First, the time of the field trip has been changed to 2pm.

>Here's the description:
>
>Join Calvin Gehlen <mailto:calvin at gobirding.com> as we explore the birds of
>Brunswick Point, Roberts Bank and the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty. We will be
>walking the dyke at Brunswick Point and then driving to explore both
>jetties. Expect to see passerines, raptors, shorebirds and seabirds. We
>should easily see Red-tailed and Rough-legged Hawks, White-crowned and
>Golden-crowned Sparrows and Surf Scoters, while we look for other more
>uncommon surprises. Meet at the west end of River Road in Ladner at 2:00pm.
>
>We'll meet then at the end of River Road in Ladner. The route is to take Hwy
>17 (the one that goes to the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal) to Hwy 10 (also
>called Ladner Trunk Road) and make a right turn. The road winds itself
>through Ladner and then it becomes River Road. You'll pass the sign and
>bridge pointing to Reifel Bird Sanctuary. Stay on River Road and don't go
>over the bridge. Not far past this point, River Road ends at a yellow gate.
>This is Brunswick Point and there is parking on the roadside along here.
>
>If you need further directions let me know.

>Hope to see you Saturday,
