Just before the quake, my dog came up to me and started moving her mouth and
making those "dogs-trying-to-talk" noises. I listened closely (as I always
do as you never know) and she was saying "under nisqually...under
nisqually..." Just kidding. :)
This story is true. My brother-in-law in Orting was sitting at his computer
and about five minutes before the quake his dog, Candy, came into the roof,
whining, and reached up and pawed his arm, a thing she never normally does.
My own animals did nothing too remarkable but the kitties hid and didn't
come out for two hours. I, myself, during the quake, sat under the doorway
to my kitchen, holding onto the dog, and saying in a quiet, reasonable
voice, in regular measured intervals, "Jesus...Jesus...Jesus..."
