Subject: VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS! YES!

Hi tweeters,

I noticed two pair of v-g swallows today on a neighbor's gutter chatting and
preening in the cold crisp morning air. They after a while got hungry and
joined two other v-g swallows. I am surprised to see them so early,
especially at their breeding ground and not at a refuge fueling up. I am
also surprised how they got passed the multiple rain and wind storms in the
south. I sure hope the weather warms up and is nice to them until spring and
summer come into play. Until then, I can only hold back my excitement and in
a few weeks put out my nest box for v-g or tree swallows.

(bothell, wa)<<<< where I was when I saw the swallows.

P.S. the reason I know the two I saw where resident breeders is becasue they
sat on the house in two particular spots that I noticed over the years and
they would always go back to those spots like the "breeding pair." No
re-fueling swallow would on purpose pick those spots.

Please let me know on other swallow sightings! ;o)
