Well, it must be hummingbird day. At 11:23 this morning, while
valiantly struggling to set up this new(er) computer, I thought I
heard a "zip" outside. Sure enough, when I went downstairs, there was
a male Rufous Hummer at the feeder.

A couple of interesting notes; first, this is earlier by a week than
my previous earliest RUHU, though I've only been here five years.
Second, I saw the first open Salmonberry blossoms just yesterday. In
previous years, the opening of Salmonberry blossoms and the arrival
of hummingbirds has not correlated all that strongly; the hummers
usually didn't show up until a week or two later. This year they're
right together.
