Today at around 5:30, a very nice female sharpy flew between me my dad and
our house landing on a tree across the street. She sat there for a few
moments while I yelled at my sister to get my binocs fast! Of course my
contacts weren't in and I was pretty blind. Some house sparrows landed in a
huge emerald green tree and she was righ on their tail, I heard the wings
flapping and all of a sudden, a scream. YES, she had got the house sparrow!
She landed and a neighbor drove by asking what we were looking at and I
explained with a little grudge, but soon lost her and then found her in the
corner of my eye. I was amazed I spotted her without my contacts, but I did.
She soon left behing my house, I ran to the back... dumb me popped my head
over the fence fast and she left. I then ran to the opposite side of my yard
hopping the fence with ease and sitting on my butt waiting for her presence.
Darn! I lost her, but oh well, I was glad to see her and actually witness a
successful attack 4 feet in front in the air and on the ground. Maybe next
time I will have my contacts in.
