Hi Tweeters,
Yesterday, Saturday, something was into my burn pile and dragged berry
vines off the top to get at the fir limbs below. I only noted it because
one bow, about 5-6 feet long, was left in the driveway and another leaning
against a nearby pear tree.
I checked with a neighbor about what had been going on. I said no one
had been into my house, but it looked like a car had been in my driveway and
turned around short of the house - reading the tire tracks. They had seen
nothing. I asked if there had been a freak wind and was told there was
none. I then mentioned a bird might have been going after branches to build
a nest platform. I then got a response! Yes, she and her brother had
thought they'd seen eagles overhead! However, it was foggy and they looking
into the sun, so couldn't tell me more. Apparently they didn't seen the
large birds on the ground, but if they thought they saw 'eagles' through the
fog, they certainly weren't too far into the air.
The branches left by the driveway were obviously rejects as were both
forked. This on my little 2 acre parcel?
