This weekend along the Yakima River (DeLorme pg 51, A5) there were
VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS. The TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE was still hanging out around
the footbridge across the river. An unusual sighting along the river was a
pair of what looked like Domestic Muscovy Ducks.

Down in Union Gap we walked the Bob & Helen Popoff Nature Trail (DeLorme pg
51, D5, So. entrance to the Yakima Greenway Trail across the freeway from the
Union Gap Mall entrance). There seemed to be YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS
everywhere. An unusual sighting for this area was a MUTE SWAN. We saw a GREAT
HORNED OWL being harassed by BLACK-BILLED MAGPIES.
