Hi Tweeters,

To continue a thread I apparently started with my warning about the access
stewardship stickers needed at Big Ditch. I do not mind buying them,
permits, as I regularly buy the annual Federal Golden Eagle Pass and the
California State Park Pass -- some years I get my money's worth, others I
chalk it off to a donation. BUT I find it very frustrating when I am out in
wilds and see a sign that says I need a permit to park or enter with no means
of buying it at that spot. Or in the case, when I was visiting the Big
Ditch, even where I was supposed to buy it, i.e., a specific location.

This is my major complaint about any of the systems that are now requiring
permits to enter, with no easy means of buying them. Here in California, we
need a federal permit to enter (park in) the National Forrest, but finding a
place to buy them is not always easy to do, because you have to go ten miles
to find a place. SO if we are going to be required to buy tickets to enter
parks, make it EASY for us to do it at the location.

I could go into the old practice of taxing the whole population to support
our parks, etc., instead of using user fees, but that is another issue and
will have to wait until after April 15th for me. It is back to doing tax
returns for my clients.
