As a bird photographer there are particular shots that I have wanted to
get. On
Sunday I got one of those shots as I was able to photograph a Hooded
Merganser
with its hood up and I got the slides back today. I wasn't disappointed.
And it is a nice way to announce my new domain site with my revised bird
page
that many of you saw in an earlier version. the hooded merganser shot can
be
seen at http://birdcentral.net/hooded.htm.
The starting page for the general site is at
http://birdcentral.net/index.htm
this site still has the majority of work yet to be done. I now have a Nikon
film scanner and it works like a charm. My desire is to go back and rescan
all
the slides before I add new material. But I also have doctoral studies and
a
job and this site is not involved in either one of those occupations.
I am hopeful of making this into an education site that can be utilized in
schools. I see lots of possibilities combining material from A.C. Bent,
along
with other curriculum, mixed in with the pictures. (The passages
from Bent need lots of editing.)
For those who are interested in the technical side of all of this, there is
a
long story to tell of getting this site together. the picture of the
merganser
is actually the first new slide that can be added since this all began.
Makes
the picture that much more special.
