In case anyone got excited about the WHIMBREL mentioned in Jack
Kintner's report, it is actually a WILLET that has been seen
repeatedly near the base of the Tsawwassen ferry jetty in Delta, BC.
This bird has been present since sometime last fall, and this is at
least the third year it has wintered there. It is usually seen on the
south side of the ferry jetty, near the base.

Sorry, Jack-- a minor error in an otherwise very interesting report.

Also, a cautionary note on the two NORTHERN GOSHAWKS being seen
regularly at the Reifel Bird Sanctuary. Although they are being
reported daily, finding them is not necessarily easy. I have visited
Reifel 3 times this year-- each time for at least 3 hours-- and have
yet to see the Goshawks.
