Hello All.

Yesterday I noted a bit of mold in the hummingbird feeders. I cleaned them,
refilled and within 30 minutes recorded the first rufous hummers of 2001! I
would love to anthropomorphize here, but I'll obstain. I don't know if this
is an early or late arrival as I moved here only in October; "here" being Gig
Harbor, WA

I had a stunning rufous male (just a tiny shade of green on the shoulders)
who fed well and did his display flight at least 3 times. I also had a
female. I am positive on both species and their sexes. Is it common to get a
female this early?

Regarding the salmonberry...I have lots of it but it isn't close to
blooming. I am guessing that we are still a month away from the blooming.

I did register at bird notes and tried to enter... hope it worked but I was
getting strange error messages.
