Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday March 15. If you have anything to add call Harry
Nehls at 503-233-3976.

The WHOOPER SWAN with the three immatures continue to be seen in the
White Lake Unit of Lower Klamath NWR. A second adult WHOOPER SWAN is now
on the refuge. The MCCOWN'S LONGSPURS have not been seen lately.

The TUFTED DUCK at the Astoria Sewage Ponds and the SUMMER TANAGER at
Cedar Mill, west of Portland are still being seen.

On March 9 a PALM WARBLER was in Florence. A ROCK SANDPIPER on the North
Jetty of the Siuslaw River and two on the South Jetty of Yaquina Bay are
still being seen. A LONG-TAILED DUCK is now at Yaquina Bay. Two calling
TRUMPETER SWANS flew north past Seal Rock State Park March 11. Many are
still in the Willamette valley.

A SNOWY OWL made a brief stop at the Portland Airport March 12 but did
not remain.

A singing male TRICOLORED BLACKBIRD and a EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL were
at the Fernhill Wetland in Forest Grove March 11. A BLACK-THROATED GRAY
WARBLER was at Jackson Bottom in Hillsboro March 9. A SANDHILL CRANE was
there the next day.

On March 11 a ROSS'S GOOSE was at Fern Ridge Reservior.

Wintering duck flocks are still in the Columbia River Gorge. Over 100
BARROW'S GOLDENEYES were at Fufus March 10. An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was
near Rufus the next day.

On March 11 a GYRFALCON was in Umatilla County south of Milton-Freewater.
