Tweets: On an errand to LaConner today, I took time out for a two hour
"Flats" birding skirmish. Still saw 28 species. Some highlights were: lots
of SNOW GEESE on Fir Island but saw only 3 TRUMPETER SWANS, (an adult pair
with cygnet). Two perched, immature ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, 10 RED-TAILS, 9 adult
BALD EAGLES and at the "West 90," (where a parked State official made note of
my parking permit in the rear window, which expires the 31st, incidentally) a
big low-soaring, GOLDEN EAGLE, with golden nape occasionally glistening in
the bright sunshine as the bird circled above us! Jan just squealed with
delight!

And Diann! On the way home, near Starbird Road, a big ol' TURKEY VULTURE
pacing the cars on I-5.

Another AND ... Including mission accomplished ... a GREAT day!
