Elizabeth,
Thanks for the reports. It is better for me if you send the reports in,
as you have done, every couple of weeks. Keep this up and you will be our
best contributor.
I have been charged with providing a good summary of sightings for the
seasons from Clallam and Jefferson. Good sightings out of these two counties
which seem unusual to me and I think might be missed by Russell Rogers and
Steve Mlodinow, I have started including in the report. Thus, I have put the
Common Teal in the database to be included in the next report but I have not
put in your other Montlake Fill sightings. Nice list, sorry you missed the
Palm Warbler.
I wonder how you decided that two of the sapsuckers were younger. I
checked my Sibley and the NGS guides. Sibley says that the juvenile plumage
is present in the RBSa in July and August. If they were in true juvenile
plumage then you have a significant sighting. If you can tell last year
juveniles at this time of the year, I would be very interested in the
plumage details you use and where you learned about them.
