Steelheading on the Hoh, saw numerous DIPPERS here and there plus one
HAIRY WOODPECKER, several HARLEQUIN DUCKS and HOODED MERGANSERS, WINTER
WRENS and an attack squadron of NORTHWESTERN CROWS though their target was
nowhere to be seen. Like the Steelhead. But, to this northwest native
(Port Angeles), the gray, soaking rain was really nice.

Also, at the Edmonds ferry landing (not the "Dock," which is the space
where the ship sits. Say that five times and you may win a prize), among a
few scoters, grebes and mergansers was one solitary TUFTED PUFFIN. I've
never seen one this far inland (they're common around Tatoosh, or were when
I was out there more than now).
