Saw an interesting confrontation between a juvenile BALD EAGLE and two
HERRING GULLS which chased it all over town just above the treetops and
roofs. I followed in my
truck for almost an hour. The juvenile eagle was a first-year bird with
the huge beak and tawny highights which looked great in the sun.
Two NORTHWESTERN CROWS appear to be preparing a nest in our front-yard
Cedar tree, but our
IMMATURE COOPER'S HAWK still made her patrol through the yard, with an
escort. And high in the clear evening sky we knocked off
doing yard work as a group of VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS passed by.
