I just had the good fortune to observe and listen to a Sandhill Crane
here in the valley.
A friend called at 9ish this am to report a crane in her pasture. Last
year she had a visiting pair in a pasture much further away. Today the so
far lone visitor was preening, occasionaly croaking and walking about a
small flock of Canada Geese unpreturbed by their presence or ours.
