HI ALL:
I checked the BIRDS OF WASHINGTON STATE (1953) by Stanley Jewett et al.
and they state the following: "Two birds (Bushtits)were noted by Burleigh
(1930:61) working on a partly completed nest March 19. On April 22 it
finally held a full set of 6 fresh eggs. It had taken 5 weeks for the
birds to complete their nest, which is probably, as Burleigh says, not at
all exceptional." And they add:" The earliest date for full sets of fresh
eggs is April 14 (Bowles, 1921d: 12)". So I guess this month is the time
Bushtits start building their nests in WA State.
Sincerely
